Whitney Houston

It seems that lately, we’re losing one celebrity after another. Well, tonight, we’ve lost a true legend: The incredibly talented and beautiful “queen of high notes,” Whitney Houston. Unfortunately, Houston was known not only for her high notes, but for her alleged drug use and unstable relationship with Bobby Brown. The I Will Always Love You singer sold over 55 million albums in the United States alone.
With her untimely death, Houston missed the Grammy Awards by just a day and now, the producers have less than 24 hours to try to figure out how to pay tribute to one of the most iconic artists of all time.
The vocal powerhouse has certainly left her mark on the world. Celebrities took to Twitter to express their sympathy for Houston‘s family and loved ones. Among others, David Hodges, Magic Johnson, Rihanna, Christina Perri, Kim Kardashian, Sophia Bush, Lauren London, Queen Latifah, Carson Daly, Missy Elliott, Serena Williams and Idris Elba tweeted messages and memories about their “sister, hero and inspiration.”
CNN reported that Houston was found in the Beverly Hilton Hotel this afternoon, where she was expected to attend Clive Davis’ pre-Grammy party this evening.
One thing’s for sure: We lost another great one. Rest in piece, Whitney Houston. May you rest among the angels.
Jumper
I am obsessed with this. Jumper is an incredible, meaningful song, originally done by Third Eye Blind. This cover, done by Boyce Avenue is the best that I’ve ever seen, which is no surprise if you’ve ever heard B.A. before. If you like it, check out their Youtube channel: You won’t regret it.
The Shorty Awards
Thanks to my incredible Twitter followers, as well as the readers of my blog, I’ve been nominated for a Shorty Award. I’ve been nominated in the categories of Humor, Fansite and Blogger. I feel incredibly honored to even be nominated for something like this. The Shorty Awards are fan-nominated awards that recognize the best in social media. If you enjoy my blog, I would love and appreciate the votes more than you can imagine. All you have to do is sign in to www.shortyawards.com with your Twitter log-in, type jcunroe in the box that asks for a TwitterUser and then select the category of Blogger.
I just want to thank you all once more. I could not be more appreciative or excited about my nominations. You guys are the best!
Don’t You Want to Share the Guilt?

It seems like it takes FOREVER to go from one Wednesday to the next. Thankfully, last night was Wednesday, which you all know means a new episode of One Tree Hill.
As the season progresses (far too quickly), the episodes seem to get better and better. Of course, each one has to end with some cliff hanger that leaves me half dead until the next week. Anyway, let’s talk about episode 9.04.
SPOILER ALERT!
We find out that baby Davis is alive and okay. We learn that Julian forgot about the baby in the car. He just forgot. Not to worry: He certainly pays for his mistake when Brooke takes the boys and doesn’t talk to him for nearly an entire day. Knowing that it’s all his fault and that he could have “taken Brooke‘s dream away from her,” Julian punishes himself and even questions his fathering abilities.
Quinn tracks down Clay‘s drug dealer and attempts to threaten him, resulting in her nearly being killed, as well as Clay. The not so happy couple fights, Clay throws Quinn out and Quinn goes to Haley for advice. Creeping around the corner, as usual, Dan takes the initiative and goes to meet up with the drug dealer. Dan threatens him, he threatens Dan and neither seem to be finished with the other.
Brooke struggles with the Julian situation, but she and Haley have the new Tree Hill Cafe to worry about. The owner of the cafe posts a slanderous message about Karen’s Cafe, which leaves Brooke and Haley angry enough to do something about it, which of course ends in drama. The cafe owner threatens to call the police, and so the rivalry between the cafes and the three women begins!
The Mouth and Millie drama progresses, but by the end of the episode, Mouth realizes what has happened to him, but might not be as willing to change as we think.
Skills is back! I’m not sure if it’s for good, but he definitely plays a part in trying to help Millie make Mouth realize what his life has come to.
Struggling with the untimely departure of Alex, Chase hooks up with a random girl. The next day, Chris Keller wants details, when his new girlfriend visits him at Tric. His new girlfriend is the same girl who Chase hooked up with the night before. The new girl’s name is Tara and she is played by the gorgeous Chelsea Kane. To think the drama stops there would be unrealistic. Chase gives into Tara once again, knowing that she is Chris‘ girlfriend. The deceiving beauty is not only a cheating tramp, but she is also the owner of the Tree Hill Cafe, naturally.
9.04 ends with the expected arrival of Nathan from his trip to Europe, but that doesn’t happen. All we see at the airport is the stuffed animal that he bought for baby Lydia lying on the side of the road. We see Haley worried that she hasn’t heard from her husband and then it ends.
Next week looks DRAMATIC, with the preview focusing mainly on Haley beginning to lose her patience and sanity.

I know it’s a bit delayed, but this past Wednesday, One Tree Hill, episode 9.03 aired. I was so excited for this season to begin and now it feels like it’s going so quickly. There are only ten episodes left!
SPOILER ALERT!
This episode was very well done. The acting, the directing: everything just seemed to be perfectly placed. The Clay and Quinn problems continue, getting worse. Quinn finally realizes that Clay has a drug problem and relies on herself to get to the bottom of it.
Mouth and Millie seem to run into a few problems. Those problems being all of the pounds Mouth has gained since beginning their talk show.
Chase is clearly upset by Alex‘s unexpected departure, but ironic enough, finds solace in Chris Keller.
Dan is still hanging around and this time, he helps Haley out at the cafe. While some of the customers aren’t exactly excited to have a murderer making their lunch, Haley sticks up for Dan by confronting her customers.
Brooke is once again disappointed by the selfishness of her father, but there’s no surprise there.
Finally, the cliffhanger ending! Julian gets a huge opportunity to rent out his sound stage, but in his excited/nervous state, her forgets one of the babies in the car! The episode ends with ambulances and police cars everywhere with a huge crowd gathered around. WHAT HAPPENED TO BABY BAKER!?
This was without a doubt my favorite episode so far.
Dream Big
“Go confidently in the direction of your dreams. Live the life you have imagined.” -Henry David Thoreau
There’s no point in living a life without dreams, goals or aspirations, so if I’m going to have these things, I’m going to have the biggest ones I can. It breaks my heart to see people who don’t dream or who do dream and don’t have the courage to pursue them. For this reason, I dream big: To some people, too big. In my eyes, there’s no such thing as a dream that’s too big.
One day, when I fell in love with journalism, I said that my dream job would be an anchor on E! News. Well, I’m happy to say that I took the first step to achieving that dream: I applied for an internship with E! News. I know that it’s just an internship and that it’s a long shot that I’ll even be chosen, but I’m hopeful and confident.
To all of you: Please pursue your dreams. Life is too short to stand around and wait for things to come to you. Chase your dreams and accomplish the things that you want on your own time. Live life to the fullest, take chances, be confident and achieve your dreams.
“The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams.” -Eleanor Roosevelt
